The Neighborhood
Dopatch was ranked one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world by TimeOut, but it’s the vibe and friendly energy that truly sets it apart. A mix of historic Victorian houses, industrial lofts, and craft shops creates a friendly, bohemian atmosphere and residents are known for their kind demeanor and energy, yet the neighborhood remains connected and uncrowded.

Esprit Park, a newly renovated addition to the neighborhood, offers a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. It features workout coves, undulating walking paths, a dog park, picnic areas, and shady lounge structures under old redwood trees. The Pier 70 redevelopment has also added Padel and Pickleball courts, breweries, scooter shops, coffee shops, and the historic Restoration Hardware dining and entertainment complex nearby. Crane Cove Park and beach are also nearby, perfect for soaking up the city’s warmest spot.

Explore local gems on 22nd and 3rd Street. Check out cozy Together Lounge wine bar, historic Dogpatch Saloon, and fab specialty coffee spots along the block. Bakery favorites are available at Neighbor, Coffee Shop, Piccino, and more. Just a stone’s throw away is the new Chase Center sports and entertainment complex, and a few more blocks to Oracle Park. All connected by the dedicated bike lane system and waterfront walking paths. Dogpatch…it’s the place to be.

about this

Neighborhood

First inhabited by the families of industrial workers, Dogpatch survived the 1906 earthquake far more intact than almost any other neighborhood.
In 2002, this part of town was officially designated as a historic district of the city of San Francisco. Each of the older homes in Central Waterfront is a particular piece of history.
A great many former factories and warehouses have been transformed into live/work lofts, exciting restaurants, or technology incubators. The proximity of this neighborhood to all types of transportation including the 3rd street Muni Light Rail, Caltrain, and Highways 101 and 280 make it uniquely situated for business and residential use.
Across 16th Steet is Mission Bay, which is the new headquarters for the UCSF Research campus, Benioff Children's Hospital, the DropBox campus, and a new arena for the Golden State Warriors.
Food lovers who call Dogpatch home are treated to a wide array of innovative local options including Just for You, Puccino, The Ramp, Yield and Mission Rock. And you can just imagine the interesting spaces some of these eateries inhabit.
Serpentine is located in a former tin can factory’s boiler room. A nearby Whole Foods Market helps supplement ingredients for all the diehard home cookers. Dogpatch is also surrounded by some enormously appealing neighborhoods including Potrero Hill's 18th Street corridor, which features even more trendy bars, cafes, and restaurants.
Locals love gathering at Esprit Park for a relaxing break while their dogs romp and socialize. And you're always just a skip and a jump from downtown, where folks can enjoy the farmers’ market at the Ferry Plaza and a nice waterfront stroll.
Both Dogpatch and Central Waterfront offer a plethora of residential real estate options. 1860 Victorian cottages live side by side with exquisite high-rises featuring penthouse views, private patios, and garages. Historic buildings offer expansive windows in live/work environments full of exposed brick, period details, and loads of character.
